Watercolour
This site offers thirty-five quick and easy lessons about painting in watercolour. Each lesson takes a simple subject (a hat, a jar, some fruit) and describes how best to mix and paint the colours necessary to produce a realistic coloured drawing.
There's also a little bit about watercolour paints and paper. In particular, what a beginner would need to start painting in watercolour as inexpensively as possible.
The lessons on this site are based on a late 19th century book called Simple Lessons In Colour by H.A. Rankin (published by Sir Isaac Pitman & Sons). All of the illustrations are from this text. I've substituted colour names where needed and modernised the language.
